Leak Trac 2200...

My Leak track has stopped working in the High setting..it seems to work a little when I first get going, then is quiets down, then stops altogether,, I flip it back and forth between high and medium a few times, and sometimes it works again for a litte, but eventually it dosent. I end up just using the medium setting, but its just not as good.. Any ideas? is it worth cracking open and taking a look?

You should probably send it back to Lance to have it serviced. I had the same issue years ago and found that I was creating the problem by closing the lid of the case with wet components (foam float, wires, probe, etc) still inside. It causes the contacts in the switches of the control unit to corrode.

After each use, when you place the LeakTrac case back into your truck, crack open the lid so the contents can dry out. I don't close mine back up until the next day at the soonest!

Try 18 new batteries first.

Two nine volt in the receiver and sixteen new double "A" in the transmitter. Should be changed every season to keep the unit operating at top efficiency.

Fresh batteries are a must, you can get very misleading results. Absoutly essential to make sure kit is dry after use.
