Vinyl liner repair
G'day guys,
I'm having trouble placing patches on vinyl liners at the moment. Water temp is about 8 degrees celcius and the adhesives aren't sticking. I've
seen liners where holes have been covered using a 2 pack and you have white spots of epoxy which look crap. I've used the products supplied by
Anderson's as well as others and none stick which I'm thinking is water temp. Can anybody offer any suggestions?

The problem is not temperature, 8 celcius = 46 f, I have no temperature trouble with patching even near freezing.
The problem is surface preparation, clean and scuff the surface with a Scotchbrite pad, the patch will then stick well, scotchbrite comes in various
roughness grades, the green works well without being too abrasive, the pad also works well to collect the glue that squeezes out as you press the
patch in place. Always press the patch tight to squeeze out any trapped water and any excess glue.

Bruce is absolutely correct about temperature. I have found the best type of glue is the Boxer type and we get better results if it is used sparingly

Yes, Boxer glue works great. Look for Boxer Vinyl Adhesive #100.

another possibility is try hh64 glue. i use boxer and dont have a problem with it in cold temps. i center the patch and usually put pressure in the
center over the hold and squeege (spelling???) the water out of the patch. clean the area with a scotchguard pad to prep the surface. small amounts of
unsceen film will prevent the repair from bonding.
