HH-66 Glue
brrscuba - 30-1-11 at 04:18 PM

At the Atlantic City show a large vinyl liner mfg stated that the best vinyl liner glue was HH-66

Has anyone used this glue? and if so, can you compare and contrast it to traditionally used Boxer glue.
What applications would HH-66 be best for?
When would Boxer be best?

Thank you
Bruce

This would be interesting info. I am always looking for better products. Boxer glue works well for me-except in the area of getting it out of my hair after doing large underwater repairs

brrscuba - 31-1-11 at 07:39 PM

The liner factory rep was very high on the HH-66, he said it was as close as you could get to having the factory weld the material together. I ordered a couple of small cans to experiment with.
Still hoping for input on people who have used it.
The place I ordered it from had a restriction on shipping it to Canada, don't know why?

This underwater adhesive is not available locally. I have heard from others in the industry that this glue is superb compared to boxer. However, I have had great success with Boxer. Any information regarding HH66 would be appreciate. You can only find it online.

poolsetc - 1-2-11 at 08:45 AM

Bruce,

I have used HH-66 for years. It is a contact cement for vinyl liner material. It is used the same as other contact cements. I have never used it for underwater aplication. It is excellent for above the water patches. The largest patch I have done is 20” in diameter. The pool was drained down so the patch could be installed.

reedpool - 1-2-11 at 10:44 PM

does not appear to be designed for underwater application but might work anyway I am going to buy some and test it.

HH-66 vs Boxer

I have run a few test patches, boxer vs HH this week, in a tub of water (my test pool is buried under 81 inches of snow since xmas)
Coming from somebody that has used boxer for decades and been pleased with it:
HH-66 has been very impressive and so far in all my tests has been superior,
It has provided a stronger bond, seems to have a lot less solvent in it. Boxer is a solvent weld bond and any excess glue can attack and weaken the vinyl. The HH seems to be more of a contact cement and did not weaken the vinyl nearly as much in my intentionally over applied test
It has found a place in my tool cart and I look ahead to pool use. I look forward to trying it on "rotten corners" and above water line tears.

I received the HH66 last night. testing begins this evening.

trackerm - 18-2-11 at 07:43 AM

Great stuff, nothing more to say

poolsetc - 22-2-11 at 10:16 AM

Bruce,

I stated previously that I had not had success using hh-66 with under water patches. I talked to the manufaturer and he stated it is used in that application. I will try it again. I think that very large patches will have to be done dry.

trackerm - 19-3-11 at 09:51 AM

used it on a pool two days ago. in ground. it works nicely. the field test results are in in a pool that is 39 degrees. IT WORKS!!!

Lance - 21-3-11 at 09:06 AM

Now available here

trackerm - 21-3-11 at 03:04 PM

what sizes do you have lance?

trackerm - 21-3-11 at 03:10 PM

i used hh66 saturday to repair two underwater repairs. One was a dime size hole in an inground liner. pool temp was 39 degrees. Same pool a second repair was a liner that pulled away out from the faceplate on the in the water bar feature, similar to a liner that pulls out of the faceplate on the stairs. pulled out a couple of screws on the faceplate, coated the six inch by four inch vinyl patch repair, set the screws and presto, nice repair. went back the next day to check on the patches (didnt get in the water this time) and pool looked great. HH 66 definately works in cold water. little thicker than boxer looks like glue you used in school Lance I see you have the eight ounce bottle. Thanks for getting this stuff its great!!!

Lance - 23-3-11 at 09:03 AM

Actually we are currently just stocking the 4 oz. bottle. We will stock other sizes if there is demand. Our thought is that the 4 oz wil be most popular since less glue will be wasted in cans that "go dry."

brehmcon - 23-3-11 at 12:53 PM

I agree on the smaller can Lance. I do the same with PVC glue and super glue.

4Leakman - 31-5-11 at 09:23 PM

I bought a few cans of HH-66 and found that on above water repairs that it works great. I did not have the same experience with underwater patches though. Seemed that the glue did not want to adhere at all. Did I miss something here? For the guys that had good underwater adhesion I was just wondering "how did you do it??"

trackerm - 1-6-11 at 09:39 AM

I did a above water repair yesterday on vinyl stairs and I have to say the hh66 performed far better than boxer could have. I cleaned the stairs initially and allowed that surface to dry. I applied hh66 to the repair vinyl and also allowed it to dry. The repair was flat, no raised or curled edges. The homeowner was very happy. As hh66 does work ok underwater, it performs far better above the water line. boxer is superior the below the water line level repairs.

4Leakman - 2-6-11 at 03:22 PM

I found that I hardly got any underwater bonding power with the HH-66. I switched to the Boxer glue right away. It is messy but it works.. HH-66, not so much!

reedpool - 3-6-11 at 09:52 AM

Same experience as trackerm-great glue dry not so good underwater

halligan - 9-6-11 at 04:57 AM

For large above water line patches try Oatey shower pan liner adhesive. It looks like antifreeze but so far it has worked great. I stumbled across this doing a job for a construction superintendent. He had huge beautiful patches above the waterline. They were entire liner samples. When I say they were beautiful I simply mean they were perfectly flat with no peeling at the edges and no bubbling. Obviously I inquired, and found that he used Oatey purchased at Home Depot.

ande2011 - 26-8-11 at 06:03 AM

I have used for years. Largest patch I have used it on was 1'x20'. I have always use it with the vinyls being dry. The
glue can be found at most boat tarp companies.

leekmaster - 13-1-12 at 09:16 AM

have used on large and small above water repairs for years.especially good for torn or pulled corners.have not tried underwater as retailer had poor feedback from residential customers using underwater and sold me his inventory at reduced rate.glad to see anderson is carrying as i use a lot.:)

tomruo - 13-6-13 at 05:30 PM

have used HH-66 for 10 years. Did a 3' x 3' dry patch that lasted longer than the liner. We use Acetate to clean all of the existing dye from the liner to be patched. Painters tape is used to tape off area for cleaning. Works great. Never tried it underwater as Boxer works great for that application.

RChellew - 8-7-13 at 06:43 PM

Boxer works better than HH-66 underwater every time. HH-66 does however work better above the waterline. Also the brush would be better if replaced with a dauber. A little secret though. Oatey shower pan liner adhesive is the best adhesive I've found for above the waterline patches. It comes in a large can and is very cheap at Home Depot. I learned this from a customer who had made a huge patch above the waterline. It looked great. I've been using it ever since.

leekmaster - 10-7-13 at 07:11 AM

Have used for years.works great on above water applications. Prefer Boxer under water.

<p><strong><a href="http://www.fakewatchesstore.com">watches</a></strong> WASHINGTON — Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. was sentenced to two and a half years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to scheming to spend $750,000 in campaign funds on TV's, restaurant dinners, an expensive watch and other costly personal items. His wife received a sentence of one year.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.fakewatchesstore.com">swiss Mechanical movement replica watches</a></strong> Jackson, the 48-year-old son of civil rights leader Jesse Jackson, had been a Democratic congressman from Illinois from 1995 until he resigned last November. After prison, he is to spend three years on supervised release and complete 500 hours of community service.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.fakewatchesstore.com">best replica watches site</a></strong> Jackson's wife, Sandra Jackson, was sentenced Wednesday to a year in prison for filing joint federal income tax returns that understated the couple's income. She was a Chicago alderman before she resigned this year during the federal investigation of the couple. She spent $5,150 in campaign funds on fur capes and parkas, court documents show.</p><p>She will serve her sentence after her husband gets out of prison. The couple, who have two children, 13 and 9, asked to serve at separate times.</p><p>Jesse Jackson Jr. had pleaded guilty to the criminal charges back in February. He admitted that he and his wife used campaign credit cards to buy 3,100 personal items worth $582,772 from 2005 through April of last year — including $60,857 for personal expenditures at restaurants, nightclubs and lounges; $16,058 for personal expenditures at sports clubs and lounges; $5,814 for alcohol and $14,513 for dry cleaning.</p><p>Individual campaign credit card purchases included a $466 dinner for two of "a personal nature" at a restaurant; a washer, dryer, range and refrigerator for the Jacksons' Chicago home; multiple flat-screen televisions, Blu-Ray DVD players and DVDs for their Washington, D.C., home; and a five-day health retreat for one of Mrs. Jackson's relatives.</p><p>Jackson told another judge when he entered his plea that "for years I lived in my campaign."</p><p>On Wednesday, Jackson asked that his family, in particular his son and daughter, not suffer because of his actions. He said he hoped his wife would get probation and that if that wasn't available he could serve her sentence for her.</p><p>"Give me her time," he said.</p><p>Jackson also asked to serve his time in Alabama, saying, "I wanted to make it a little inconvenient for everybody to get to me."</p><p>The judge gave both Jackson and his wife lighter sentences than prosecutors had recommended.</p><p>Under federal sentencing guidelines, Jackson faced a potential sentencing range of 46 to 57 months in prison, and the government recommended the lower end of that — 48 months. Jackson's lawyer, Reid H. Weingarten, wrote that the former congressman's mental health might worsen under the stress of incarceration. Jackson has been treated for depression and bipolar disorder.</p><p>Prosecutors sought an 18-month prison sentence for Sandra Jackson. U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen has said the government could have come up with more serious charges against her than filing false joint federal income tax returns, but used discretion because the Jacksons have children.</p>

Outlet mall plans remain at standstill
By Jenna Martin

MICHAEL HOLAHAN/STAFF A new Sam's Club store under construction in Aiken is one of several major commercial projects announced for the Augusta area in recent months. 2 more photos >>

timberland
timberland outlet Efforts to bring an outlet mall to metro Augusta have so far proved fruitless, though other retail endeavors across the area are blossoming.
<a href="http://www.timberlandoutletshose.com">discount timberland boots</a> Blanchard and Calhoun Commercial Senior Vice President Matt Mills said his company, in addition to an affiliate, solicited interest for a local outlet mall about 18 months ago at various retail-outlet conferences to a tepid audience.
timberland boots on sale “The feedback we got back from most of them was they were going to concentrate in more metropolitan areas,” Mills said. “Augusta just wasn’t big enough for their expansion model at the time.”
cheap timberland boots Since then, there haven’t been any bites.
timberland fashion boots Other retailers, on the other hand, seem to be chomping at the bit to bring their business to the area despite a still-sluggish economy.
On July 24, Bass Pro Shops announced a 50,000-square-foot outpost store coming near the Columbia County intersection of Interstate 20 and Flowing Wells Road, possibly as soon as late next year. Just the next day, news came of a 42,000-square-foot Cabela’s sporting goods store and a 14-auditorium movie theater within the Village at Riverwatch development in Augusta.
On Wednesday, another announcement revealed plans for a 41,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market at Washington Crossing Shopping Center, off Washington Road and Interstate 20.
Other area projects already in the works or recently opened include a Sam’s Club in Aiken County, three new Walmarts across the area, a Carolina Pottery store in Martinez, a second Big Lots in Evans and an H&amp;M fashion store for the Augusta Mall.
In an attempt to gauge interest for a local outlet mall, Columbia County planning officials surveyed residents in January 2011. More than 90 percent of about 4,000 respondents across the area supported such a development in the county.
The idea initially gained steam after a 2010 Columbia County retail survey had indicated the public wanted an outlet mall within county limits. A parcel next to the Grovetown Walmart in the Gateway shopping center, which has I-20 frontage, was identified as an ideal, ready-to-go location.
The county additionally created an outlet-mall analysis available to developers interested in embarking on the project.
Columbia County Development Services Director Richard Harmon has said that a local outlet mall would benefit Columbia County and surrounding areas by generating sales tax revenue, creating jobs and cutting driving distances for shoppers.
Working against the outlet mall concept is that many of the retailers, such as Nike and Polo, that were contacted by Mills and his consultant said they didn’t want to negatively affect sales of stores already carrying their products in the Augusta market, Mills said.
“Given the size of the market and the presence of their primary retail stores in the Augusta Mall, they were afraid that the outlet locations would cannibalize on sales,” he said.
Several outlet retailers, including Nike, Timberland and Coach, declined to comment on how they choose a new site and whether Augusta would be a desirable location.
For outlet-mall giant Tanger, which operates Georgia retail developments in Commerce and Locust Grove, street visibility and ease of access rank high when considering potential sites, spokesman Quentin Pell wrote in an e-mail.
“Typically our sites usually enjoy high visibility along roadways with high-passenger counts from residents and tourists,” Pell wrote. “The decision to move on any given project is unique and multifaceted.”
The company has 43 outlet centers in 26 states and Canada. Four Tanger outlet centers are along the South Carolina coast, including Hilton Head and Charleston.
Pell said Tanger is continually in the process of evaluating new project sites but ruled out the Augusta market as a current prospect.
Mills said he believes Augusta will “definitely be home to an outlet center” in the future when the economy and outlet retailers’ attitude justify the endeavor.
“I think we’re going to continue to monitor it,” he said. “When it makes sense, and the retailers’ perspective changes, and they want to invest in a secondary market like Augusta, we’ll be ready to take advantage of it.”

Ex-Tiffany exec pleads guilty in NY jewelry thefts By TOM HAYS Associated Press Posted:

07/26/2013 02:38:07 PM MDT Updated:

07/26/2013 03:28:59 PM MDT
NEW YORK&mdash;A former executive with Tiffany &amp; Co. pleaded guilty on Friday to charges she stole an assortment of little blue box bling worth more than $2 million from the famous Fifth Avenue jeweler's inventory. tiffany Appearing in federal court in Manhattan, Ingrid Lederhaas-Okun admitted she had stashed the jewelry in her home in Darien, Conn., where she was arrested earlier this month. tiffany jewelry outlet "I knew it was illegal to steal, and I did so regardless. ... I'm very sorry," the 46-year-old told a judge before pleading guilty to one count of interstate transportation of stolen property. tiffany silver As vice president of product development, Lederhaas-Okun had authority to check out jewelry from Tiffany to provide to potential manufacturers to determine production costs. Authorities alleged that after she left Tiffany in February, the company discovered she had checked out 164 items that were never returned. wholesale tiffanyjewelry The items included numerous diamond bracelets in 18-carat gold, diamond drop and hoop earrings in platinum or 18-carat gold, diamond rings in platinum, rings with precious stones in 18-carat gold, and platinum and diamond pendants. tiffanysilver When confronted about the missing jewelry, Lederhaas-Okun claimed that she had left some of it behind at Tiffany and that some had been lost or damaged, according to a criminal complaint. But an investigation found that Lederhaas-Okun resold some of the goods to an unidentified international dealer for more than $1.3 million. Other items were found in her home. <a href="http://www.tiffanyandcorp.com">tiffanyrings</a> Bank records showed that since January 2011, the dealer wrote 75 checks to her or her husband for amounts of up to $47,400, the complaint said. Investigators also recovered purchase forms signed by Lederhaas-Okun that said the items were her personal property. Authorities alleged Lederhaas-Okun purposely checked out items valued at under $10,000 apiece to avoid detection. The company takes a daily inventory of all checked-out items worth more than $25,000. Lederhaas-Okun faces a maximum of nearly four years in prison at sentencing on Dec. 10. Print

On large patches underwater I still use Boxer but edges sometimes do not stay down well. I fill empty dye syringe with HH66 and shoot it under edges.works great
