can some edvice me how the XLT 17 works I just hear a lot of noice and the numbers or frequency going up and down any comments will be greatly appresiatte.. I have try it at several jobs and I had have never found any leaks Im still using my geo phone but The XLT 17 supost to be better .

The XLT 17 is just a microphone and amplifier. If you use a geophone now, when you hear the leak with the geophone then get out your 17 and listen over the area you found with your geophone. If the static never subsides the unit could need service.
