cyanuric acid

Hey Folks, I called Steve today and asked if cyanuric acid would strip out from pool water after flowing 200 feet in a backfilled plumbing ditch to a dug hole that's showing water. Steve says it will not strip out. The customer's house, sprinkler system, and pool are new. All three contractors don't want to see a finger pointed at them. I can't get the pool to leak anywhere. The water meter is still......etc etc.

So I'm asking the group will cyanuric acid strip out after flowing through dirt? I tested both the ditch and pool water for cyanuric acid. The pool is very high and the ditch is none.

Cyanuric acid will not strip out. If there is cyanuric acid in the pool water and not in the hole, then the water is not pool water. We have used this fact for years to prove whether water in question is ground water or pool water.

I agree with Rob, Cyanuric will not strip out, This is usually the first thing I check if I run across a situation like yours, Hap.

That's great info to know. BTW, reading every post for my own education. Hence the reply to an older post.

Why not just measure the water loss from the pool?
