U can make ur own pipe "knocker" by buying an adjustable Watts Pressure relief valve and plumbing water backwards through it. By adjusting it you can vary the pitch and frequency to suit the depth of pipe u are looking for.

hi, would it be safe to assume that you're reverse plumbing the prv or are you using a hose bib connection on both ends ( female in, male out) or are you plumbing to accept the anderson induction/pressure tester?

i've ordered the prv and will be "building" mine this weekend, that's a great tip and i want to thank you for posting it.
